Course description

This 3.5-hour face-to-face training session covers the practical skills essential for reconstituting and administering vaccinations to both adults and children aged 2+.

We pair this with comprehensive training in anaphylaxis and basic life support (BLS).

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
1. Administer intramuscular and subcutaneous injections in the deltoid and thigh.
2. Reconstitute vaccines.
3. Draw up multi-dose vial injections.
4. Perform intranasal vaccinations.
5. Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
6. Identify and manage anaphylaxis, employing adrenaline for both children and adults.

By the conclusion of this course, participants will be well-equipped with the necessary skills to confidently and competently carry out vaccination procedures and respond effectively to potential medical emergencies.

Please note:
National Patient Group Directions (PGDs) and Protocols for NHS-funded vaccination services can be obtained from Community Pharmacy England (CPE) website and various other NHS organisations.

These NHS PGDs/Protocols will outline any further supplementary training and governance criteria
required to utilise the PGDs.
