With the introduction of the new NHS Pharmacy First service, we have introduced a comprehensive face-to-face training programme, tailored to equip pharmacists with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively develop patient care, within the scope of the service.

Service Overview
Provide a detailed understanding of the new NHS Pharmacy First service, its objectives, and the role of community pharmacies in delivering healthcare.
Pathophysiology, Diagnosis and Management of the seven clinical pathways
- Sinusitis
- Sore throat
- Earache
- Infected insect bites
- Impetigo
- Shingles
- Uncomplicated urinary tract infections in women
Clinical Screening of Patients
Providing the service requires pharmacists to engage with the patient, and offer advice
and NHS-funded treatment via Patient-Group Directions (PGDs)
Patient Record Keeping
Train on proper documentation practices, emphasizing the importance of accurate and confidential record-keeping for patient care and regulatory compliance.
Collaboration with Healthcare Professionals
Highlight the collaborative aspect of the NHS Pharmacy First service, encouraging effective communication and coordination with other healthcare providers for holistic patient care.
